http://www.mobygames.com/browse/games/o,100/j,1890/

They seem to list the game as Published by nintendo, and make ZC sound like a dump of the original game. They seem to fail to distinguish Zelda Classic from the Legend of Zelda, even listing Armageddon Games as a publisher for the original NES game in 1999. I think the administrators of this site need to be set straight. Any thoughts?

In this game, you assume the role of an elf named Link

Link, an elf? ha! what a moron. I love professional gaming sites like this that get info wrong

yes, do set this site straight

Ahem, nobody cares. That page is probably ancient, and they will likely not even respond to any emails about it, much less actually change anything. And it's not anyone's responsibility to maintain their page other than them. You can go ahead and try to get them to change it, but I think it's a waste of time. Really, it's just 1 bad webpage amongst millions of other bad webpages.

The Legend of Zelda is a freeware version of the original Zelda game for the PC.
Zelda Classic is much more than that.

In this game, you assume the role of an elf named Link.
Link is a hyrulian, they have long ears so they can supposedly 'hear the gods'.

In a top-down view, you tour the world populated not only by monsters, but also by people who want to help you, shops, and more.
The original npcs didn't care about anybody but themselves (Except maybe Abei a little)

Here, you will fight everything from bats to dragons,
Zols and Gleeoks, not bats and dragons.

and will be equipped with an assortment of games and magical items.
What games? Gambling? That's the only minigame in the original.

Their review is really off, they didn't even mention the customizability of the program. I give that site two thumbs down.

EDIT: I went to their site and made a correction contribution. Maybe they'll fix it now.

EDIT 2: I wish I'd have seen mottzilla's post before going through the trouble of doing all that.

MobyGames is not ancient and unused, and it actually has a nice amount of regular updates made by its users, as one can read on the "Moby Stats" section. (And maybe someone should add a user review of Zelda Classic?)

Incidentally, MobyGames is used as the information site for games listed on http://www.the-underdogs.org - now that is a site where Zelda Classic has to be added to (categories freeware games / fan remakes), if it isn't already there already.

Theres a lot of websites that show info about LOZ from NES, and link to ZC as a download, basically saying that it's nintendo's LOZ released on PC.

P.S. FYI, AGN and NIN think that LOZ for the PC is a GI. WYSIWYG. C U!

What the fuck did that last line there mean Eckels? My n00bish is rusty. ;p

And like I said, no one cares what some idiot site says. Do you think everything on the internet is taken as being true?

Doesn't really mean much of anything. I was just poking fun at the heavy use of acronyms.
