i need help getting ZC to run in dos. i need to know the lowest version of dos allowed by ZC and where to put cwsdpmi. if anyone can help me, thanks.
the lowest version is 1.84, and that's the first public release. if you're using the DOS version with Windows XP, it dosen't work. download 1.93 Beta 183/4 for Windows

why are you giving me that url?
and why do you need the lowest version of DOS?

I don't think ZC cares about DOS itself. It probably doesn't matter what DOS version you have as long as the DPMI or whatever. Since it used Allegro I think you only need to run a DPMI server to get it started. I don't know how to do that but someone else might. If you have win 3 or higher try running it under a DOS box possibly with the cwsdpmi file in you windows or system directories.
