I was thinking about this this morning. If they (Mario and Luigi) are the Mario Brothers, then wouldn't Mario's name be Mario Mario? And likewise, Luigi would be Luigi Mario?

Wouldn't that be more accurate? Or do I just have too much time on my hands?

HA!, so I wasn't the only one who noticed that.

And even after 11 years, I still can't believe they pinned John Leguizamo as Luigi.

I've never seen the movie... but I'd like to eventually. Maybe I can rent it somewhere?

I believe their last name is officially supposed to be Mario... Mario Mario and Luigi Mario. If it's not official, it's at least common, as it's the only name I've ever heard on any Mario sites or the limited fanfiction I've read...

by today's standards, the movie is horrid. but it was good back in the day :D

btw, i thought since they are called "Mario Brothers", that Mario's and Luigi's last name are universally understood. i know its only stated in the movie, but eh...

and 610 is right, its "Bob-bombs"... :)

There was also one episode of the old "Super Show" where Mario got Luigi a certificate for some dance(?) lessons, and the name on the certificate was "Luigi Mario".

I seem to remember one of the kids in the elementary school I used to go to was named David Davis or some such...:p
