I keep user posted images off. If I didn't, it would take half an hour to load threads with my 24K dialup connection.

The image in Eckels' sig is over 200 KB if I remember correctly. It might be a good idea to be nice to people who can't get a decent connection (like me), but it's not really a big deal because of the ability to disable user posted images. :shrug:
