I'm not an extraordinary musician, as all of you know. However, there aren't too many, save Hermit, who really write video game music around here. So, if you have a finished quest, a near finished quest, or are a respectable Quest Maker who has finished several quests, I would be more than happy to write music for your quest. Send me the completed quest, with a list of areas that need music, cutscenes that need music, etc etc, and if you have any ideas of what you want them to sound like, go ahead and describe what you think it should sound like and such (ex. creepy sounding swamp theme with a lot of dead space, or determining overworld music, etc.etc.) It won't be perfect, but it will be unheard of before. So, there's my offer. The best idea is to post here and such, so I'll see it, and email the quest and such to [email protected]

Oh yes, and here is a recent completed song of mine. http://angelfire.com/music5/jandl/jaymz/Midi1.mid
Please don't use it without my permission.

I would take up on your offer since I'm trying to figure out a MIDI for my adult wallet cave and it's to have a lot of water in it too.. but my quest is over yahoo's quots so unfortunately I can't send it to you. It's 2.5 MB in size and I really need a MIDI for it. That would help motivate me to get this quest complete! after this cave, all I got left to do is make level 9. Already got some of it mapped out on paper. :)

Whoops! Didn't see the HumanZoo.mid you got there.. That would work perfectly for me! Can I use it? I will put you in the credits of my quest too. :) Thanks.

Eh. I'll work on a remix of it, or something. That exact version I don't really want going anywhere. I'll work on that. Could you upload your quest or something? I could look at what else you have and such. Just send the link via PM, and give me a week or so.

Well, It's uncomplete and I'm not gonna release another demo. If I upload it now, then that's putting up another demo.anyways, I'll just look around then. :) Thanks for the offer though. :)

Eh. I don't want to lose my first customer. Let me think. You don't have to release another demo. You could let me download it and then delete it off the Internet. Therfore I would have the only other copy, and I won't show it anyone. I would just need maybe some sample screens, even, since it's just one part, and I could mold HZ in a way that it would be acceptable for that area.

hmm.. do you have Yahoo! messenger? if so, hop on it and contact me on it. Better yet, maybe use AIM.

My yahoo name is [email protected] and AIM name is "Snort 2200" (include space) Please re-think of it. I'll talk to you about it over that. I can even send files over them too so that I won't even need to put it on the net. :) (you know, secutiry reasons)

You may use Trillian, But I know somebody who CAN contact me using it. His name was Ielen/Cepat so it IS feasable. Please contact me.

what program do you use to write MIDIs? i'm an accomplished musician, so I'd like to try my luck at writing.
your song is really good, but it's kinda monotone. (i did only listen to the first minute or so though...)

edit: Woah. i just listened to the whole thing, and i totally take that back. silly me.

I use Noteworthy Composer (http://noteworthycomposer.com) to write my midis.

I added you to my list, but you never show up. See if I do. I'm KingZildgian

how long did it take you to write that song? i've been working for probably about an hour and i've only got 12 measures or so (plus repeats). It's a pretty good song right now, with 2 background lines and one melody line. Basic, but it sounds good. i'll see if i can get it hosted, and mabye get it up here for everyone to enjoy :).

edit: here.

Actually, I've tried my own hand at this midi writing and I've came up of two different remakes of different final fantasy songs.

Here they are:

http://mzc.zcworld.net/redxiii.mid

It took me about an hour and a half for each. :p Noteworthy Composer is litterally covered in keyboard shortcuts. :p Did you use them?

lol- i don't know any of them.
speaking of which, is there any way to get it into Jazz-style eighth notes? i've got a really good jazz song in my head (with influences from some of the stuff I was playing last night with my school band) and i wanna write something.
Does Finale work for MIDIs? i've got the actual program (not here, but i can get it) and i know that you can do Jazz in that.

I didslike Finale. All you hav eto do is make two eighth notes, with an eighth rest in between, and then highlight all three, and press Ctrl+T or go to Notes>Triplet.
You can also do that with A quarter note and an eighth note.

yeah, i guess that would work.
i really don't like finale either, but some of the older vesions are really good for what i want to do. plus, I don't have the real version of Noteworthy so...

i'm gonna refer another guy to this thread, if you don't mind.

No. Please don't do that. :P

I've been working with Snort, and I guess he's liked what I've done so far. Man, that sounds so concieted. I'm really not. I have so much to work on, such as classical and jazz, but one of my strengths seems to be video game music.

This song is amazing!! May I download it? There's a very slim chance that it will be in any of my quests as I don't really have a purpose for it, but it's still really cool.

Thanks. I wrote it inspired by SE. Go ahead and use it, I don't think War Lord will like it.
