......This is insane. The University of Houston has a T3 line, which is being paid for out of the pockets of the students. They allow for a VPN system, so people can use thier own computers on the network. but whenever I try to run bittorrent (or any other FS prog) it can't get squat. WHAT GIVES?

But hey, it's the universities line, they can determine what gets done with it. See if it says anything about what it blocks specificly on its website.

I know that some universities, specifically Rice University (which is also in Houston?) blocks any web page that has foul language on it. That is so FUCKING retarded.:)

Are you unable to get anything, or just getting really slow speeds? If it's the latter, you have to consider the fact that the other end of the connection is probably not on a T3.

I mean that any Fileshare Program has an absolutely DEAD LINE.

Spoke with one of the guys over at CSCC and it seems that thgey've blocked out everything that doesn't use port 80 (in other words, the internet works, IM programs work, but the almighty FS progs are rendered useless.....that sucks...
