Strange Birdo website I found

Me and my sister were playing Mario Kart DD earlier and then we both said "Birdo sucks." and then later I was playing alone and she, out of boredom, was searching on Google for Birdo stuff. Then she screeched and called me over.

Someone prove him wrong. There had to have been a transexual video game character before Birdo. There was rape and porn on the 2600, so surely somewhere there is a transexual ingaming history.

Oh, and let's not have any big debates on the validity or "right" or "wrong"-ness of transexuality. Now here's the one that will rape your mind. Mario and Luigi are the only humans in the Musrhoom Kingdom. From memory, including games up to Paper Mario, I can only recall maybe 5 female toadstools in the Mushroom Kingdom. So, how did a human female come from two mushrooms?

They've gotten around the issue and covered it up for the U.S. after SMB 2. Birdo is still as the original SMB 2 manual discribes in Japan.

I talk with a friend about the differences between U.S. and Japanese games sometimes, and Birdo came up. Apparently they changed the voice samples for the U.S. version, because Birdo doesn't say "Birdo" in the Japanese version of MKDD!!. If you look at the Japanese page, there's a different name. Birdo cetainly has problems.

Obviouisly you haven't used Birdo if you think he sucks. Any game you can be birdo in I always use him and always pwn anyone I play. Birdo and Daisy kick rocks. In DD I think Birdo and Petey Pirahna is prolly the best combination.....

Also I've always called Birdo a guy....I never noticed that they refered to him as a girl in any of the newer games O.o

I've been to that site before, I think that page was updated since I last saw it, I don't think it had much on it when I saw it last. I remember reading the thing in the SMB2 manual when I was younger, and then I forgot about it until I saw something on that site about it when I was researching transsexualism.

Well there was Pac Man. I know they obviously say Pac Man. But then came Mrs. Pac Man. Notice Mrs. Pac Man. And also the fact that 'she' looks exactly like Pac Man, except for the bow of course. A rather half hearted attempt at some kind of femenine wardrobe. Eventually 'her' best friend in the off hours, Pinky, got tired of seing her poor friend with a lack of a fashion sense and they dressed 'her' up as you see on the cover of the game - with a pair of high heels, new eyelashes and a lip job.
