Google Spider?

In the "Who's Online" it lists half the guests as Google Spiders. Now what exactly are those?

The google bots which index the internet so that you can find something when you use their search engine.

Anyways, isn't it supposed to add site text and images to Google's DB??

Yes, Google's spiders reach virtually anything that's linked from another page they reach. They were here long before we went to vB3; they just didn't show up in the Who's Online listing then.

There are also spiders for MSN, Yahoo!, and other search engines prowling the web. Google seems to be the most prominently listed in forum online lists though. :shrug:
