The slash is a pretty new feature, so I think it could still be open to debate about finalization.

This idea came from playing a GBA game, Double Dragon Advance. In games like that, where it is absolutely necessary to have more moves than buttons are available for, A and B are used simultaneously to lead into new moves.

Anyway, there are a lot of people who would like to be able to use both the slash and the stab, and this might be good for them. I understand , people already have the "replacing slash" in their quest, so , if it were, it might have to be a rule. But still, it would be fun to have your protagonist with a sort of "special move" so to speak.

Thoughts?

This would also help toward the day when such 'Special Moves' such as Link having a spin attack, or having to tap a button in order for the "Beam" to work would be more common place.

In any and all cases, though, such moves would be enabled on a per quest basis.

or, maybe slashing and stabbing could be random with a new quest rule? it's just a thought...

Hm. Random slashing / stabbing would be interesting, although the player could get frustrated when he/she wants a slash, but gets a stab. Perhaps only if you stand still, you can slash, and if holding in a movement button when you press the "A" button, you'll stab.

Pressing A+B together can cause some more frustration though, some some people get pretty hectic on the controls in intense combat situations. For example, they'll be slashing all over the place, but trying to stun the various enemies with the boomerang. Instead of doing a slash-boomerang combo, they'll do a stab instead of either.

It's a great topic for discussion though. It could be very interesting to see Link be able to dish out the mighty smackdown in multiple ways. :) Good idea!
