Why not all of us get together, ut aside our differences and amke a giant quest... I mean like everyone. We could ask for it to become the official AGN custom quest. I see no problems with the idea so why not?

Here is what we would need

Overworld Designers
Dungeon Designers
Overworld NPC and Sign Makers
People to make tiles for custom enemies
Testers

We could do this. Why not all of us pull together as a team and do this?

Groups quests have been done several times in AGN history. A good quest requires a great investment of time, which is why I have not been so active in ZC lately. Many here have school, jobs, families, and cannot commit to the amount of work required for a quest.

It is also good to have some ideas for plot and characters, giving people an idea of where to start.

Good luck though. :blah:

Yea same here. I got school. (d#$% English tescher gives too much d#$% homework.) and things like that. :) I'm even lucky I can get the time out to make my own quest and a MASSIVE quest like this takes a LOT of time.. :)

No, No... I mean like not just a couple of people, I mean, why not all of us pitch in on the side and make one giant quest like a super huge quest...
I do understand the school and work thing though

I got an idea for this to happen. How about everyone make a seperate quest, then link them together using a password system like petoe did with his passworded dor in MM DWR. :) that way everyone can pick and choose what graphics set they would like to use in their part of the quest. :)

or, everyone could submit a few screens for their area? like, maybe a map, tiles, all that stuff, and add it into one large qst file

That we come to a problem. trying to import a map is broken in the public betas.. but fixed in the private ones. (from what I recall, I'm not a alpha tester) so we would have a problem there too.. and the tiles may be difficult because there may be pallete issues and things like that. My way was just a bit easier. :)

actually, it's still broken in the betas/alphas, but not like the public ones. and yes, your way is easier, but it alos provides a problem, how would you "link" them together? the player would have to download a new quest every time the went into a new area, and, (unlike a certain upcoming quest), that could become a real pain

The problem with Snort's idea is that it gives two people the maze path into the next quest file. With that inside information, people could skip over whole quests, so it wouldn't be cool.

Also, making a quest with so many crafters would probably cause palette problems, and the upload/download process would be terrible. Plus, everyone would have to work out a magnificent story for such a huge quest.

Quick question, would this quest be based around Link, or some other character (Like MM: DWR or Sabatage Dragoon). If Link were the main character, then new and really awesome sprites would have to be made for him to make him unique.

Hmm.. If I can't use the graphics set I want to use, (my graphics set that is) then I will not be a part of this. I tried though by suggesting a few suggestions.

What kind do you want to use? Maybe it could be our main one....

The set that is an unreleased set right now. It's the set that's in the quest TLOLAHRTS (The Legend of Link: and His Return to Snortsia) That is a quest/tileset that under construction.
