Free Windows Mic Sound recorder?

Does anyone know any free, easy programs to use to record songs from the microphone? I've tried the Windows sound recorder but it only records for a minute at a time which is very very irritating. And it would be great if the program made recordings MP3s instead of WAVs...anyone know?

Yes. Try Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). It's free, simple, and can do a lot.

Raichu86 beat me to it, but I second his suggestion. It is quite simply the best freeware audio tool I have found.
