A simply Outrage!!

So there I was at a churrasco, friends of mine, and I'm in there house excaping the heat and I look through the bookshelf and what do I see?
a Where's Waldo book! I rejoice, for my divine love of these books and what glorious childhood memories came back. Then I look at the cover and I see the title:
"Onde está Wally?"
WALLY!?
WALLY?!
I mean it could've been "Onde está Waldo?"
I then I argued with my friend and how he said waldo was such a dumb name and that it was all about Wally.
I'm outraged!!!

Not every country in the world is the United States. In some countries, the American versions of names don't exist, or are uncommon. Why should Spanish-speaking people have to call him Waldo if they are more comfortable with Wally?

Great that you bring that up. In Australia, its actually called Where's Wally. Dont ask me why, because i was aware that the American (amongst other countries) named him Waldo.

Its small, but the best i could dig up in 2 minutes.

at first, i thought the verb 'waldar' in spanish might have something to do with it. Not only is there no 'waldar', there are no 'walder's or 'waldir's either. Maybe they 'Americanized' it for the exported versions :lol:
