Having a problem with 192

Cloral made a post about turning window blinds off.
Dos doesn't do well with XP, try the windows version, if you aren't already, you didn't say.

I don't know how to explain it. Every few seconds it is like it is 'losing' it, fpr a second. I can still play the games but it is very nmerve wracking. I had no problem downloading or installing it. It is the Windows version. How do I turn Windows blinds off?

I wasn't here for quite awhile because I got an emulator and "A Link to the Past". Trouble is, I am stuck on the mountain because I only have a keyboard and am not fast enough to get through the mountain boss with it. :(

You'll have to ask Cloral about the "window blinds", I have windows 98 so don't have it.

Did you get the 183 player or are you using the 182?
The 183 player corrects a lot of problems.

I got 183. By the way, I am at the 2nd level of Quest for Freedom. Neat Quest. Thank you. I had almost given up on finding any new quests here.

No, I had 183 to begin with. I also have Swan song but it probably wouldn't work on anything but the 183? I wish I were better at explaining what it does. I went in and changed a whole bunch of options, one at a time. Do you know if anyone has 183 AND XP?

I am stuck on Level 4 of "Freedom". :(

yea, a lot of people run XP and 183, it works well for most it seems.

there are a lot of things that could effect it.
could be your resolution.
could be that window blinds thing.
could be a anti virus program running at the same time.
could be the setting on your colors.
could be using allegro40.dll instead of allegro41.dll....

different strokes for different folks, it seems.


Freedom II and SwanSong were both built with the 183 player in mind.

Geez! That may be it. I have Allegro 40. Where can I get 41?

My color setting is "Highest bit 32". What should it be?

I will also shut off Spy Bot while playing and see if that helps.

BTW, on a side note you should check out some of the Zelda 3 hacks people are making on other boards. I won't give out links, but seach for TEKhacks.

I don't remember if this was addressed, but did you make sure you got all the support archives for the latest beta?

yea, you should have gotten the 41 with your download, I know the 41 is included with Ielens downloads at, http://zcm.gbdhosting.com/forums/index.php?download=2 but you'll have to sign up for his board to download

Ielens site has the older version of 192, and I went to the UK site but they don't seem to have an Allegro 41. Would their newest version work? I got my download originally from Alpha Dawg's site and it does'nt seem to have an Allegro at all, so I guess it just used the 40 I already had. JS, where can I get support archives? I downloaded and installed it from ielens site two weeks ago and it just gave me the allegro 41

download the 192-184 a few threads from here in the thread called 187 release, I just did and it has all the files and works better then the 183, at least so far :)
