It's great. You pick a dictator or sitcom (or any show, really) character to be. With that persona in mind, you answer a series of yes or no questions. More often than not, it will guess who you are thinking of.

Try it yourself. :)

holy asshole flakes.

it guessed Ponch from CHiPs in like a hundred steps.

It's brilliant. I want to have it's baby.

I take that back.
I picked Harry from Harry in the Hendersons and it refused to believe that I was anyone other than Mr Peepers from SNL. Clearly a failure.

That's the beauty of it though. If it guesses wrong, you can add a character and a question.

If you never say yes, it keeps going. I eventually gave up, and it gave me some disc jockey from Poland. Oh well.

I think i answered yes to only two of the several hundred questions in the session i just completed.

and it guessed correctly. Alex P. Keaton from Family ties.

Good work

I tried to be Castro since I am Cuban (but not Communist like that son of a bitch) and it worked. How does it know?

A friend of mine showed me that site a few months ago, I guessed Homer from the Simpsons, it guessed it in about 15 questions. I also figured out that if you just press yes or no it will eventually asking you stupid/insulting questions until about the 100th question.

I was the 444th person to pick Hitler. I thought they would have worked it out when I answered "yes" to "did you have a funny little mustache?"

EDIT: HOLY SHIT THEY GUESSED MACBETH!

That thing's really creepy...it got Sailor Venus instead of Sailor Moon, but it's still creepy.

It works on people's responses, similar to the NICOLE chat bot we all love. Basically, it is asking you questions from its database. The first few questions are very broad, and are probably hand-coded to help the program decide "dictator or character". As time progresses, you get to very specific questions. These are the user-entered questions and are the source of the accuracy.

It was unable to guess Bob Newhart. :D

*edit* Struck out on Rob Petrie from the Dick Van Dyke Show, too. This is fun.

It's a basic learning algorithm. We had first-year CS students write a similar (but simpler) program in the class I TA'd at Berkeley. The more people that try it, the better it gets.

I tried to be Hitler, but I accidently answered one wrong. The weird part was it just said I was from Germany and gave no name.

Took it a long while, but it finally guessed Office Space. Took it over 200 questions.

I tried George Bush the president but it thought I was choosing Busg the character from "That's my Bush." :D I wonder how many people can be both characters and dictators.
P.S. Yes I know he isn't a dictator but he's the closest that is also a character.

I first tried Fry from futurama, and it got it in a bunch of steps. I was impressed.

I then tried Elaine from seinfeld, and I got Ernestine (Lily Tomlin) from Laugh-in....

I then tried to find myself. I don't know what the fuck I got.
