I was wandering the internet, looking for a thorough episode description of the AoSMB3 episode "7 Continents for 7 Koopas", when it was my misfortune to happen upon this thorough description full of pictures of the entertainingly disturbing 1989 Mario Ice Capades 50th anniversary special spectacular, hosted by Jason Bateman and a very pre-Charmed Alyssa Milano (http://smbis.nescentral.com/icecapades.htm) (click at your own risk).

The basic gist seems to be, Jason the "Video Game Prince" explains to Alyssa what Nintendo is, when suddenly "King Koopa (http://smbis.nescentral.com/images/icecapades/icecapades07.jpg)" creates a Computer Virus (http://smbis.nescentral.com/images/icecapades/monitorvirus.gif) and escapes, bringing with him his, as the site puts it quite well, legions of dumpy villians (http://smbis.nescentral.com/images/icecapades/icecapades52.jpg). The Bros (pictured below) defeat them, or rather Luigi and a bunch of fake explosions (http://smbis.nescentral.com/images/icecapades/airgun.gif) defeat them, and the day is saved (http://smbis.nescentral.com/images/icecapades/icecapades37.jpg).

The site has a much better, longer description of it, and a lot more pictures. I found it yesterday, but after some thinking decided it definately warranted posting, so that it might spread and destroy each of your brain cells also, like a virulent plague of some sort. For the first time in my life, I'm glad I (91%) postdate the '80s.
