I'm doing a science project on how a plant differs in the way it grows if it is magnetized. I found the procedure for magnetizing the seeds, but there is one problem: the magnetic funnels I found online are outrageously expensive. I couldn't find any for a reasonable price. Does anybody know where I can find one for a resonable price?

I don't know what a magnetic funnel is but why don't you try making your own. Or just put a stick with a fridge magnet near the stem as it grows. Cheap. In any case if you don't chage your idea can you post the results here I would be interested.

The Funnels (http://www.labfilters.com/catalog/4610640A.asp)

I dont think you will find any that will be under 100 dollars man.

Does your school have any that you can borrow?

The way I am doing it, the seed has to be magnetized before it is planted. Although it would be cheap to do it that way, it doesn' t work for the experiment.

I found those same funnels, those were the most expensive that I found. The school wouldn't let me borrow a funnel though, so I'm stuck looking for one.

Hmmm, seems kinda hard to find. You may have to tell the school to frell themselves. You shouldn't hav to pay 100 bucks for some stupid science project.

Next thing you know, you'll be dropping 50 large for George Washingtons' wooden teeth for social studies.

When I picked this project, I found a link for a funnel for only about $25. It's still expensive but not too bad. Of course, the site shut down or something and now I can't find one for a good price. At least I have until February 19 to finish the project.

Well http://www.magneticeast.com/health/magneticfunnel.html has one for $85. A little better. I couldn't find one much cheaper either.

Ask if you can have your experiment done at school. That way you can get your funnel-fun and the school will probably let you cause you're keeping it on school property. You can tend to it in the morning before or during homeroom, during lunch, and maybe after school if you're up to it. That's all assuming that you're in high school. ;D

The link I put up before is working now. It looks like the server was down for a while. It's on sale for $25 dollars, so my money issue is settled. But now because of this site, another problem came up. It's not in stock. I have to start this project soon so it better arrive in their warehouse soon.

Update: I found another way to magnatize a seed without a funnel. It uses the same technique and is a lot cheaper. I got with S&H for only $30. Now I just have to get the plants to grow before February 9.
http://www.magnetictherapy.co.uk/images/wand1-100.jpg This is the thing that is going to magnetize the seed.

Thanks for all your help.
