well, for 2 days now, Oregon (at least where I live) has gotten more snow than it has in 20 years. cool? no. power's been out since after 4 AM monday, and just came back on -HOPEFULLY- permanently at about 5:15 PM. it came back twice before, but only for a few minutes, and the cable company didn't have power (missed SG-1 and couldn't connect to the net).

so that's where I was without power, going crazy, and freezing my butt off for the past 2 days. I tell you, without power for that long, it's like not being able to breathe :p

oh, and the thing that pissed me off the MOST, is we are usually the last neighborhood to have power restored to  . I could even see lights on the hill not even a mile away from us

Snow is great. Its the silent killer.

The longest that Ive been without power would be almost 2 days. Just whip out the old sleepin bag and your good to go. If you like football, play that outside with all your friends. It fun to play that in a blizzard. With all the snow padding the ground so you can smack your friends silly and they wont get too brusied up :D

Heh, the closest we've ever had to something like that was an ice storm two years ago... About two days without power. I had a friend over at the time... And like 10 minutes after he left, it started to sleet and do freezing rain and stuf... within 20 minutes after that, the power went off... And after they had the roads cleared, you still had to be careful while you were in areas with trees... a branch could crack at any moment and fall on your car...

yes, we've had a few branches fall, even trees! we live in a kinda, forested area, and there's alot of fallen stuff all over. but nothing has landed on any cars that I know of... yet

We haven't gotten snow for at least 2 weeks or more (the only snow left it the bits on the edges of lawns.) Which is VERY strange, because over the past 3 years, we've had at least 6 or 7 feet of snow on everyone's lawn. Please note that I live less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean, and in towns about 3 hours away, they've been getting massive snow storms.

Snow is the best thing in the world... at least almost. :D
But power has never went off because of snow here.

Is it really true that it's almost always raining there in Vancouver? That awesome city is up there in north, but to my knowledge instead of a lot of snow you get a lot of rain?

I live in Oregon too. Where do ya live, *b*?

I was in Baker City on "vacation" for the past two days. I'm back in Portland now, and all is well. We got a foot at Baker, and I come home to a half inch. Lol.

I'm down in Albany, near Corvallis. I used to live in Colorado, and the area around here today looks JUST like it. ...bit of nostalgia, I'm afraid...

Hubby and I live in the Hillsboro/Beaverton/Aloha area. We woke up this morning to about 2-3 inches of snow on the ground. Very pretty sight. We're supposed to be going to a friends house for dinner tonight.... not sure we'll be going.

Ah well...

yes, I woke up to a few more inches on top of what I had too. now the trees are all covered in snow again... which means I may not be on AGN as much today *worried*

We got another 10 inches. We built a 7-foot snowman today.
