movie editor/film maker

does anyone know about film making & if there's any programs on the internet to download that can edit home film/videos? i'm doing a project for advertising class so if ya know how i could go about using a computer program to edit a tape or dvd (and how would you put camcorder footage on a disk by the way?) then let me know--by the way, anyone have any good ideas for a good advertisement i could do? (an exisisting product, service, or idea)

The best program I've seen is one my brother has, iMovie. He has it on his iBook. It might be available for PC's too, but I'm not sure.

How much would that cost? I could use some better advertisements than just GIFs.

No specific ideas, but here are some general tips when you decide on a subject:
*Be short and specific, wordiness is discouraged.
*Be punchy: Surprise your reader.
*Be original: Make up a slogan or something.

windows movie maker v. 2 is great, just like imovie, but i like it bettter, plus its for pc's. go to the microsoft site and its a free download!
