I have used paint shop pro 8 before, but can anyone tell me how to make the backgrounds of a picture I make, transparent?

I've never used it before, but I would guess you can set it in PSP's equivalent of Properties. either that, or make the bg absolute white or absolute black

Yes. I agree. Paint Shop Pro sucks compared to it.

Save as a GIF with transparency checked "on". Pure white/black will be transparent. PNGs can be transparent as well.

EDIT: Interesting. Your sig is a GIF. Take Goat's advice and use Photoshop; my method will work in that program.

I'm not sure of how to to it in the PhotoShop, but you can only use transparency in a gif (Not a jpg or a bmp)

Also, I do believe you can set any one color to be a transparent, not just white or black. It should be a relatively simple matter to set it up, though.

EDIT: By the way, that Insomnia one is excellent artistry. (The Kry isn't bad either) Did you draw those?

Also, I don't know anything about Png format, so I'll assume that you can make it transparent as well, as someone else pointed out.

No I didn't draw those, sorry. I'm too lazy, I just rip them off of peoples sites without permission hoping they won't notice.

EDIT: I'll make you one if you want...

EDIT2: I got photoshop, but I'm trying to save and I cant find any transparency, please don't hurt me if it's something simple that I missed...

Teach a man to fish, and it takes alot of your precious time. Give a man a fish and leave before he gets hungry again... ;)
