Room type (simple question)

This is a simple question which I should, but don't, know the answer to.

I want Link to enter a room that is "Pay for Info". He warps from the over world but I do not want to use screen 80. This does not seem to work unless I have him warp to an entrance room and then walk into the pay for info room.

I guess my question is are room types valid if you warp directly to them???

like if you are using an "insta-warp" to a screen on another dmap from the overworld? i wouldn't see why not--they should work no matter what warp type--it should all depend on the dmap--room types only work in cave & dungeon dmaps with a level # >0.

yep, I have one of these in my current quest, it's probably the level number messing you up, if you don't have one the string won't display.
also you set the string up on the room, not the overworld screen.

I use a "cave" d-map and often just use the d-map number as the level number as well, just to keep track of them.
I use and enterance/exit warp.
don't forget to set your green and blue positioning squares.
should work like that for you.
