Wow! I've actually got most, if not all, of the beanie babies he has listed. Maybe I should sell mine...

lol I love his item description.

It made me laugh, yelling at everyone telling them he doesn't care about the collectibles or the "fake" ones, etc. I found it quite funny :D

I love this quote:

"I don't think my ex-wife was in the Black Market Beanie Trade..but then again, I didn't know she was having an affair either!"

This is almost as funny as the "Kick Saddam's Ass" posting on E-bay I saw one time. It also speaks of a great tragedy in someone's soul.

Think that perhaps the guy is a bit bitter about the breakup and maybe even intent on hurting his ex?

Ahh, I believe I see the rare blue peanut elephant, valued at over $4000. And how much was the winning bid? $860?

I've long known Beanie Babies are worth a lot to collectors. Now other beanbag critters don't have the same value, since the value is in the Beanie Baby label, although certainly the rarity of particular Beanie Baby does have an effect on its value as well. There are some Beanie Babies which were only produced for a few months before retirement (one the the shortest runs was an eagle with a patriotic theme). The net effect of BB's irregular production patterns is that many collectors will race to make sure they have every one before there's a chance at its retirement.

In short, Beanie Babies are designed by the company to be collectors items, much like Pokemon CCG, Yugi-oh CCG, and any number of items which people go crazy collecting for the sake of gaining monetary value.
