The Specifics of the Continue Error.

I keep hearing about a continue error. I may have experienced it a number of times without even knowing that it was the continue bug at all. What are the "symptoms" of this bug exactly? I would have thought it was just author-based incompetance that would have caused it.

all i know is that it makes the player restart in square 00 instead of at the entrance, and that it applies to (i think) every dungeon in which the screen 00 is in the d-map scrollie-bar thingie.
