View Full Version : Hmmm, I missed something.
Why has the forums been changed since I've been away? Is there a reason? The sigedit button is gone in user cp, the ton of themes are gone, what did i miss?

Apparently, they updated to the new verion of VB. After that, they lost a lot of the old hacks or something like that.

I had also been wondering about the new setup for AGN. My internet was down for a month and when it got back up AGN looked really different.
Also, I think a hack is like an upgrade, kinda like the arcade feature for VB, I think that's a hack. The little MPQ tag is also I hack I think.

A hack, I think, is somethign that changed the VB either just for fun, or to make it easier for staff to do something. Like the edit history thing, and the quick reply box (which I miss) and the skins.
I'm pretty sure Mavrick here is right,I think its something changed in Visual Basic programing to make it what it normally doesn't do.

Ahem. VB stands for "VBulletin", and it's written in php.
My bad, I was thinking of SE for Visual Basic.

Ok, assuming vBulletin is like PHPBB, a hack is a change in the code to make it different. The quick reply was, indeed, a hack, and they made it by changing the code of some of the PHP files. Most of the pre-made hacks have instructions on where to copy and paste the code.
