I heard somewhere that FFXII was near done, The only other info square released was a poster.

http://www.galbadiax.com/ff12/poster.php?screennum=poster1

Theres the poster at least. I dunno if its actually close to being finished thats probably wrong but it DOES exist.

If this was up before sorry for reposting... I went through a few pages and didn't see anything though.

Think logically. If it was nearly done, wouldn't they be pushing it hard, with ads in gaming magazines and sites and the like? If it was nearly done, wouldn't we be seeing previews on IGN, GameSpot, EGM, etc?

Maybe not. Nearly done doesn't necessarily mean near release.
Nice poster. I wonder if all the cities'll be so pretty.

Nah thats probably just like, the main city, and the rest of the cities are tiny outlying mini-cities. e.e

In FFIX all the cities were pretty (I'm a poet and I didn't even know it :p)

I hope this is nearly done, but how would that be possible with FFX-2 just being released and FFXI in beta?

Just wait until November 18th. Thats when they will mention any first news on it.

FF XI Isn't even out yet. How the hell would they be able to ship FF XII before FF XI?

Whatever you heard is (I think) a load of crap.

FFXI shipped a long time ago in Japan. They had lots of issues with the server and such though, so they put the US release on hold for a while. Remember too that FF games usually come out several months earler in Japan, so even if it was close to release there, it would still be a little while before it would come out here.

Remember, Square merged with Enix. They got a lot more people now.

I didn't really buy what I was told either... But I wasn't sure so I thought I would say so anyway. I'm suprised so many people didn't see the poster... Usually everyone here hears everything way before I do.

I do like that poster, but I've seen it before. It's been floating around the internet for ages, just not in as good quality.

True, but they'd put more people on FF. It's their moneymaker.

According to Game Informer magazine on November 12th at the Virgin Cinema in Tokyo they will give some more info about it.

Also in the magazine it says that FFVII Advent Children the CG movie may be comming with a remake of FFVII on the PS2. That isn't for sure but they did say that square is supposidly planning on remaking FFVII.

I dunno if this magazine is true or not but it has some nice screenshots of the movie and Kingdom Hearts 2. It said that there is a new enemy called the Nobody in Kingdom Hearts 2 as well as the heartless.

Actually, I read somewhere that someone from Square was saying that because FF7 can still be played on the PS2 they really don't feel any need to remake it at this point.

You mean Square's moneymaker. What about Dragon Quest? I beleive that was Enix's moneymaker.

In short, they're not going to release FF XII any sooner than normal just because of the merger.

Yeah, I thought Star Ocean 3 was a big project for the Enix side of things, and don't forget about the new Dragon Warrior

Actually I believe they are working on a dragon quest thing right now...
