More Secure, Colorful $20 Bill Makes Its Debut (http://www.moneyfactory.com/newmoney/main.cfm/media/releases102003newyork)
Learn more about it. (http://www.moneyfactory.com/newmoney/)

I heard news about the release of a new $20 design. The most noticable3 thing about this new bill is the addition of more color to it. I got one just today from the ATM, and I must say I like it.

My zip code has a tally of two.

That's up from 1 since yesterday.

I saw a commercial for the new 20 dollar bill. I find it extremely funny that the US gov. is advertising for a note.

Why is it always the 20 dollar bill getting makeovers? It's never a $5 or a $1. It's always a $20. I haven't haven't seen the new bill in person yet.

It'd be nice to see some other bills with a change. I just want to use $2 bills and not have them confused with $1 bills.

Because the $20 is the bill that gets the most phoney money produced.

Yah, that sounds cool...but working with money every day (at the bank) the one color really is easy on the eyes...but I guess the average person doesn't stare at wads of it every day heh. I think the general green makes US currency unique to a lot of other countries which already have multi-colored paper money...

I think it's really pretty with colors, but I suppose I'm partial to the classic green. *shrug*

I like the idea of color blends myself.

If they redo other bills in like manner, I hope they choose different color combos.

I demand a $3 bill. To make my demands known, I am now officially boycotting currency in all ways, shapes, and forms.

BTW, I haven't seen the new $20 in real life, but the redesign looks nice. Wonder when counterfeiters will get a clue and start copying $50s...

$50 bills are less popular targets because a lot of places won't take anything bigger than a twenty. By far, the biggest counterfeiting targets are $20 (biggest bill you can pass easily) and $100 (biggest bill in circulation).

I think the government is also applying this technique to other monetary notes they dispense.. my disability check, from the US Treasury itself, has the same color pattern as the new XX note.. though its green on the left and fades into peach on the right.

New designs for the $50 and $100 notes are scheduled for introduction in 2004 and 2005, respectively. Different colors will be used for different denominations, which will help everyone – particularly those who are visually impaired – to tell denominations apart. Redesign of the $5 and $10 notes is under consideration, but the $1 and $2 notes will not be redesigned. No new $2 bill design, sorry guys. However should somebody want any of the old ones, I now have $30 of them in my drawer at work. I can't figure out why nobody wants them.

Anyway, no new $20s for me, yet. We take in so many goddamn 20s from all of our business depositors we rarely need to order any from the Fed. That's why not all banks have them yet.

A few years ago, there was a change in the Aussie $5 note. Sure it looked better, but it turned out to be quite a pain in the arse when no machines would accept them.

i find that the old green i way to bland. i live in Canada, so, i'm used to our money being all different colours, but i really can't stand the green-ness of the americain money. and the one dollar bills. it's so much easier to have coins!

I like the old bills because they are nice, boring and stable. Haven't seen any yet, but we take in a lot of them at my work (cashier at grocery store). I need to go to work today at 12, and I'll look some more then.

They are all big mean people! They are being mean to the 1$ and 2$ bill! What if the money had feelings? What if the 1$ and 2$ bill wanted to be all spazzed up?

I haven't seen the new 20$ yet ...

Starkist posted about it a while back and I still don't like it. I like the old one better.

I also have a couple of $2 bills stashed somewhere.
