Measure Your Reaction Test.

It’s a very short one. Concentrate and click away. (http://kylan.newgrabs.com/reaction.swf)

Here are my results:

First try:
Time in seconds
0.19
0.175
0.194
0.211
0.245
Average: 0.203

I disagree with the last one being your quickest... I found that the increased size threw me off for a brief moment.

Second try:
Time in seconds
0.211
0.198
0.182
0.209
0.189
Average:0.197
Your average reaction time was 0.197
That’s fast.

Yay me!

And while you’re at it,

find the man’s head here. (http://beatniksalad.typepad.com/photos/email_attachments/20030623_kmfdm543_135435.jpg)

“Find the Man's Head within 3 seconds and you're a genius! According to medical experiments: If you can find the Man's Head within 3 seconds, your right brain is developed better than normal. If you can find the Man's Head within 1 minute, your right brain is developed normally. If you can find the Man's Head within 1-3 minutes, your right brain is slow in reacting; you should eat more meat protein. If you can find the Man's Head in 3 minutes or more, your right brain is a disaster... extremely slow in reacting, the only suggestion is please watch cartoons to help normally develop your right brain."

I'm no genius, but it took me a lot less than a minute to find it.

I got .3 too, but what threw me off was the fact that if I didn't move the mouse after every click, it wouldn't register the next time. That test earns my wrath.

Found the head in ~5 seconds.

This thing reminds me of that little quick-draw game in Kirby's Adventure.. I always made it past the first two, usually past the third, and most of the time couldn't make it past the fourth... but on a few occasions I managed to complete the whole thing, so I guess it varies...

Anyway, on my first try at this thing...

Well, on the first one I bumped the mouse too quickly and got a one-second penalty... my other scores were:
0.376, 0.283, 0.299, and 0.247, which somehow comes out to an average of 0.441 (maybe because of that first one and because of the .376 I got the second time). Basically it said I sucked:P

Anyway, trying again with a clearer idea of what I was doing, I got 0.206, 0.192, 0.202, 0.218, and 0.261, coming to an average of 0.215! Much better. Apparently that's "pretty good" according to the test.

Deciding to try a third time, in a normal sitting position this time, not with my legs up in the chair with me, and also because of the difference in the first two times, I produced 0.21, 0.214, 0.248, 0.214, and 0.248 (god only knows how I got the 0.214 twice and 0.248 twice, specifically, in one round), which came to an average of 0.226.. not much different from my previous score.

I think practice helps a lot, though, as does a comfortability with the settings of what you're doing. I find it quite easy to zoom through most of the levels in Rockman X 2 because I've played it a million times, but I sucked the first few times I played (those walls that close in sideways are a good example: I manage to get through those with plenty of space to spare unless I downright fall now, but it took several tries in the beginning).

I'm also kind of cold right now, and I haven't had much caffiene today, so I might be a little more sluggish than at some other times. *shrug*

As long as I'm fast enough to play SMB3, I'm probably fine. :)

I might also point out that it didn't mess me up much when there was the big dot because I already read Carrot Red's (that's a lot of things pronounced as "red") post, so I was expecting it a little more... it didn't really throw me off much. It might've if I were taking the test without knowing that, I don't know... when it happened the first time I found myself jumping on it, but as I said, I was expecting it to a degree, so...

I found the man's head in about a minute... man, that looks freaky! I was expecting some sort of an optical-illusion type thing, so I was trying to see a pattern in the nuts... but there's really a head there in the nuts! That's just disturbing...

Again, though, this was probably affected by trying to predict it beforehand; I was expecting it to be something right-brained, so I was trying to imagine a pattern or something, when there was really something to find (which, to me, seemed more left-brained, but I guess you have to pay attention to notice it)... anyway, I don't know exactly what that means...

Averaged 0.247, no wonder I suck so bad at FPSes.

As for the head, it took me a little while. I figured there'd be a pattern or something, but then I actually saw it o.O

*E* Second try I got 0.228. I'm still slow :)
