In case you haven't heard, Johnny Cash died last night at the age of 71. I'm not one for country music... but for Mr. Cash I make an exception. He will live on in his music.

Johnny Cash was a great man, a living legend. He surely will be remembered.

I was also saddened by the death of John Ritter of a heart failure at the age of 54.

Coincidentally, John Ritter is the son of Tex Ritter, another famous country/cowboy singer.

Yeah, I heard about it in my Hebr... I heard about it in my Language class today, the teacher went on and on about the people that died recently. Then we had a discussion about who stayed up the earliest to watch 3's company on Channel 5 at 3:00 in the morning. :p We shall miss them. :shy:

It's a little sad. I know him mainly from his role on an episode on The Simpsons as a talking coyote.

Holy cow. I've been seeing these people so much lately on TV, and then they all just die. It's disturbing.

And, they're both named John.

Man I'm a moron. I didn't see the other topic. Sorry about the repeat, guys.

Johnny Cash was cool, I've always liked his music. It's nice, perhaps, that he didn't have to live long without his love.

John Ritter seemed a nice homely guy, too young to die...

I just saw him a few weeks ago on MTV and I remember thinking that this guy will go on forever. I'm glad he got to finish what he'd been doing though, a lot of people do't get to do that.

Early this morning Legend Johnny Cash passed away from diabetes complications. He had been in the hospital for weeks. This guy was the closest thing I ever really had to an idol as I don't quite idolize anyone entirely. John R. Cash passed away at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.. Man, this hits hard for me.

One of his latest songs really touched me, man. It's basicly his life in a bottle, so to speak, and I can really relate to how he felt some of the time. I'm not sure if these lyrics are 100% correct as I just listened to the song and wrote them, but here they are:

[intro]
I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focused on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

[chorus]
What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

[verse2]
I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disapears
You are someone else
I am still right here

[outro]
If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way....

Hurt was his interpretation of an industrial song. He was a great man. He was gold. I just learnt that he passed away from the post. I'm really sad. His wife passed away before he sang the song.. thats what he means by sweetest friend.

Wow, three threads for the same topic! He surely was popular.
The Johns are dieing...it's an epedimic. (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75486)
And "The Man In Black" Fades away... (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75498)

Can they be merged, please?

My step dad died from the same exact thing earlier this year and he was a year younger then John. Its sad to see everyone that you know or see on tv die.

Well..it's a cover of a NIN song...but it did seem appropriate for what he was going through and how he felt.

I'm upset that John Ritter died, he looked so young and I liked watching reruns of Three's Company.

Yeah, June went just a bit ago. He didn't seem the same after that. :(

John Ritter was my sister's favorite actor, and he died on her birthday. She was pretty sad...

Johnny Cash rocks, it's sad that he's gone...
