Remember those old style games, like Commander Keen, and Jill of the Jungle? Are there any games like that out anymore? Just wondering.

I hear Lady Sia for the GBA has some pretty nostalgic gaming, albeit a bit short. And if you don't find that good enough, there's always the emulators.

And Commander Keen r0x0rs .

I never played any of those, but Sonic Mega Collection for the GC gives some good platforming fixes.:)

For GCN
Sonic Adventure DX
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
Super Mario Sunshine
MegaMan Network Transmission (Very hard)

For GBA
MegaMan Zero
MegaMan & Bass
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (Sort of a platform/RPG style)
Metriod Fusion

These are the only platformer games I've played. There are probably a lot more.

Goemon's Great Adventure for Nintendo 64 is great 2-D side scrolling adventure with 3-D graphics, with lots of action and enemies and jumping. I suppose its very oldskool just in the way the gameplay is.
I wrote some impressions of the first area here

Geomon's Great Adventure rocks serious ass. :)

Also check out any new Castlevania game for the GBA. And also check out Akuji (http://fh.no-ip.com:81/stuff/akuji.zip) it's a platformer with some RPG elements added into the mix. Thanks to Geru for the download, if it works as of now. :|

Goemon's Great Adventure did kick ass, although it was a bit short. It was like the goofiness of Mario mixed in with some Zelda.

And did anyone play the second n64 entry for Goemon I hear it sucked major ballz.

I was talking about the second Goemon N64 game, "Goemon's Great Adventure", the one that has 2-D gameplay with 3-D graphics. ;)
