I'm not trying to pull anyone away from the glory that is Shattered Earth, and if any mods think I am, just delete the thread I guess?

But this game seems to be just like it, only there is more to do, it runs faster, more people play it, there is more places to explore, more items to collect, it looks very similar to me. It's got party systems and everything to, looks kinda fun.

Thought people might be interested...?

It also seems to be the most idiotically strict. Oh well, maybe we should have someone go out and test the two.

Maybe WL should try it out and see if it has any neat features he'd like to implement in SE. Sometimes seeing how someone else has done it can give you ideas about things that work well (or things that don't work well and should be avoided).

It ran smoothly, I'll give it that, but the in-game menus i didnt like. SE's are far better, even SE's non graphical menus were better. Also the enemies dont seem to walk towards you as they do in SE. Other than that tho, its pretty much the same, even some of the mesasge commands...

Tile-based engines have been around long enough that it isn't surprising to have multiple teams developing an online world based on the same general engine, and it makes sense that they would resemble their competitors on at least a basic level.

SE uses its graphics as a placeholder, but this one it looks permanent. Judging by the people online, it's been around MUCH longer.

I've been looking into this a bit more.

Turns out there is a whole ton of games like this. They are all using an awesome MMORPG system, so you can make your own if you want as well. So go download it now and check it out!

Also, you might wanna check out the forums, there are tons of people with games like this on it.

If anyone downloads this, can you post here saying how to get the map editor to work? I can't find it, but I know it exists!

I dunno where I can find a "game manual" for this game

There really isn't one.

To play, use arrows to move around, Ctrl to attack, Enter to pick up items, and everything else you can basically see in Shattered Earth manual :P Hold down shift while moving, and you can run.

If you mean Playerworlds software, yes, they need a manual, but now I know how to get the map editor working since someone explained it to me on their forum. The thread is below.

Mirage has been around longer than Shattered Earth.

If I'm not mistaken I believe they attempted pay-to-play with it as well...

Not a very professional looking site though and many of the links don't work. The screenshots didn't even work so I couldn't compare it to SE.

The only "screenshot" I went by was the banner at the top. Then I downloaded it and looked at it myself.

Agreed. Their website sucks.

The only links at the top that work are Mirage Universe and Mirage Online... but I like the game.

The movement is a lot quicker and smoother. I'm always finding myself having trouble turning or moving in Shattered Earth as it won't respond to my keys very quickly. Mirage doesn't do that, and if you hold down Shift, it lets you run, which I like a lot.

SE is way better, but if you look at the sprite file for this game, its exactly like the one for SE. But if mirage has been around longer, why is it a bunch of shit . You can do more things in SE then Mirage. And that isnt really saying much

Downloaded it only for a new version to come out in a few minutes. It directed me back to the website to download the new version. No auto update. Didn't bother updating.

I tried it out, but it kept me waiting at the "Account created, sending data to server" screen..

They probably boot ANYONE who mentions SE, they don't want their users finding out that it's just a copy (from the looks of it, it is)

Eh? Did you misread? That came before SE, how could it be a copy of se? Either that or I'm mis-understanding you o.o -shrug- I'll check it out. Could be a good SE-substitute.

I am gonna try it out. It looks just like SE. It could be pretty fun, and a good substitute for SE while it is down.
