Usually, if you have a .php file and you want to view it properly, then you need to view it from a server with php on it.

I downloaded it from www.thesims.com it is the hot date patch, it is supposed to be a setup to fix all of the errors in the game, and all of the other programs like make-a-date and everything are in .php too.

And after I have downloaded it it says that this is and invalid file extension.

A php application is what this very forum is scripted in. Is there an .exe file in the file (assuming it is some type of compressed file...)
