Disable Ladder

Is there any way to disable the ladder in a screen? I don't have 'use ladder' selected and Link still uses the ladder.

In dungeons, link will always use the ladder if he can. You can counter this in a very simple way if you are willing to give up the ability to use the flippers and zoras. Change all of the water combos to 'none'. Or, change the type to cave.

or you could just make doubles of water tiles and have one combo set as none, and the other as water.

What about layering? Will placing the normal water on a layer, and placing blocks under the layer work? Or will that go against the desired effect?

no, I have great experience with layers, and different combo types are only affected on the base layer (layer 0), and the only exeption is the eyeball combo, which dosen't work quite right
