When using cutscenes with text, we all know that there is still the plume of smoke as the invisible 'Fire' tile appears. I know there isn't a way to remove the sound affect, but is there anyway to hide the smoke?

Yes, simply make the "Spawn" sprite to pure black. The only side-effect is that enemies will not show the spawn sprite either, and it'll look weird.

i have a question:
-If you use timed warps, will the timer for the warp start after the last string completely shows? like if i set the tics to 60, do I warp 60 tics after the last string appears? this is good to know cuz if i have linked strings, i don't want to warp in the middle of my strings

It does warp in the middle of strings.
