Stupid car, part 2...

Well, I got my car back from the mechanic today... they replaced the fuel pump.

Pro: The car actually appears to be fixed now. I drove it for quite a while today, and it showed no signs of the random dying it was doing earlier.
Con: I don't even want to talk about how much lighter my wallet is.
Pro: At least I have a car...
Con: I have to drive the thing back to Kansas in a month and a half. I'm going to be holding my breath the whole trip, hoping my giant heap of scrap metal holds together.

Such is the way of things, I suppose. :shrug:

Cars suck man. If your wallet is THAT much lighter, maybe you should have invested in a downpayment and a loan for a new car instead.

I really wanted to do that. But I can't really consider a new car unless I have a job that extends beyond the end of next month...
