GTA Vice City PC Help

I just bought Vice City for PC today. I installed it, but whenever i play it and pause the game by pressing escape, it freezes. I can still press the windows key and get out of it, but it is really annoying having to restart the game every five minutes. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

My graphics card is an ATI 9700 Pro. I'm running Windows XP Pro. I tried downloading the no cd crack for it, but it didn't do anything (not that i really expected it to...)

Any help is appreciated.

You must goto rockstar's site and get the latest version of GTA VC. As I recall there were a few things wrong in the initial release.

Been there mike, nothing is there lol

And as for getting the new version...the new one (1.1) only fixes some minor graphic details, but nothing more than that.
