I have never been so in tune with a program before in all my life. My browser and I have reached a level of synch that surpasses the finest of swiss timepieces. My browser is ready at a seconds notice to whisk me back and forth instantaneously to every destination I frequent. Yes, it is true that my Opera and I have acheived user-interface nirvana...

It took me a good four months to tune this puppy so that every setting is precisely the way I wish. I play my browser like a master pianist belting out a concerto at carnegie hall.

It's a good thing.

...and it only took me a few hours.

;)

I'm quite pleased with my Opera browser set-up as well. Although I have a few minor complaints, but that's alright...it's quite ok if it means I can have customizable skins for it. One day I can have butterflies and bugs, and the next day I can have a cool marble-like design. :D

Opera is a cool browser, but I've found I prefer Mozilla Firebird. I think it has to do with the sheer simplicity of Firebird as compared to the customizability of Opera.

Cool theme JJ.

Opera is da shit. And the latest version, 7.11, is a big step from the last 6.x version (especially on Linux). The new renderer is really fast. My only gripe is that they screwed up the cookie management system that worked perfectly on the previous Linux version.

Mozilla Firebird is my secondary browser. I mainly use it if I want to go to some page that uses java. The new preferences window in 0.6 has really been cleaned up. Thankfully since Mozilla 1.4 just came out, they can fork the tree and concentrate on Firebird, and slim down the Gecko engine.

I normally use Opera (I pronounce it oh-PEAR-a because OP-ra makes me think of fat ladies with viking helmets singing) for everything but AGN because my comp seems to be too slow to use Opera really quickly, although it's great at school. I use IE and hit F11 for the minimalist browser, and have it set up so that everything I need is in one band, or there are »'s to a pulldown menu for everything I want. The google toolbar is useful, although I've recently gotten some sort of virus that occasionally directs me to porn and opens popups. This doesn't happen in Opera (oh-PEAR-a), so I like that for everything but AGN. Stupid slow POS PII 400mHz.

Oh god, I'm still stuck here with IE 6. I want Opera

Cool layout though, JJ

I'm happy with my IE. I can't download anything different, my parents and sister would be lost without the basics.

Yeah, I'm on a family computer. My parents would be lost like no other. Otherwise, I'd like to get Opera.

I never liked all that extra shit on my browser. All that my browser shows are my menu, standard, and address bars, as well as my google toolbr. Anything I need is in my favorites. *shrugs* I just like to make things look neat.

Actually, if you are able to install anything on your computer, regardless of whether it is a family computer, you can install another browser right along side IE. It is almost impossible to remove IE anyway.

Also, if you are using Win 98 or above you can set up user acconuts on your computer. So you can have your own settings, and they can have theirs.

Don't you hate that tho? You have to be inconvenienced because you are more computer literate than the others in you family. It's like when I used to have to use AOL because thats what my family wanted to use, finally i talked my dad into getting DSL tho, made things alot better. Another thing is like when there is a small problem, and they think its something huge and critical, so they redo the computer, nothing pisses me off more. If they could wait just another 10 minutes or another hour for me to get alook at it, they would never have to redo it. Yet someone fucks around or lets the little ones on it, does something like change the size of the desktop to 1024x768 instead of 800x600, I don't see how anybody in their right mind can use 800x600, and they have to go and redo the puter, grrr... I lose so much improtant shit that way.
