OK, I just built myself a PSX->PC adapter, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to install the software. The instructions (http://www.arcadecontrols.com/Mirrors/www.ziplabel.com/dpadpro/install.html) say to go into the game pad window and click "Have Disk" yet I don't anything remotely like that in any of the gamepad windows. Any suggestions?

[edit] I tryed a differant set of software, and got that to install. Now it won't detect my controller...

Can't help, but lemme know if you get it to work.

I'd love to have a PS controller work w/my laptop. I'd go for a GTA for that instead of my PS2 then.

I got it to work! The setup program was changing the I/O address that I put in, and thus it couldn't be detected. If anyone wants help in making this, just post here. I can't post a full walkthrough right now, but here's a list of what you'll need:

PSX Pad
Continuity tester/Multimeter
DB25(Parallell/printer port) Male connector
Male USB Connector (Optional, but reccommented)
9 Volt Batter connector (Duel Shock only)
PSX extension cable OR DB9(serial) male and female connectors.

Some time ago I converted an old SNES pad to use on my PC. Connects thru the parallel port, uses DPADPro software, very nice....
