Can't use Quest Editor

I have the Quest Editor on my laptop and I can move the cursor with the touchpad, but when I click the left or right mouse button, it won't corrrespond on the screen. Basically, all I can do is see the interface with the menus but i can't access them. Can anyone help me?

i'm not sure, but i don't think zelda classic or z-quest work on labtops yet. :(
