It would fit better in General Discussion than here...
I consider a blackish purple shriveled prune-type thing to be a date. :)

Starkist is absolutly right.
On the other hand, unless you're an utter strange oddball like me, you probably have an extensive social life. I would consider a date just two people going somewhere or doing something together. I don't think it necessarily has to be courting or foo foo relationships or even romantic.

A date in the social sense? Well, if you do something with a person in pursuit of a relationship (with marriage in mind), then I would consider that to be a date. Doesn't have to be romantic or mushy. It just has to be in pursuit of an imtimate relationship.

Going out with someone that you'd like to get to know (or already know, or really like, or love, or married to, or killed, whatever), with all intentions on having a good time with that person.
