Time to pat myself on the ass...

I feel like I just accomplished something today... I had a big-ass folder titled "SEAN" in all caps, for everything that belongs to me... So, anyway, it was 893 Megabytes all together... well, I took the time today to delete EVERYTHING that I don't use, or whatever gives me error messages... So, I delete a lot of things, and then I realize... I'm just gonna give up on emulation (except for my Atari ROM collection, which by the way I ahve EVERY single game for Atari 2600, and I play all of them) so, I get rid of EVERY ROM and Emulator that I don't want... Goodbye NESticle, later Gens, bon voyage ZSNES, adios Visual Boy Advance, see ou in hell Connectix Game Station, and almost any other console that can be emulated... GONE... Along with EVERY single ROM I ahve... Then, I realized... HELL, why not get rid of any other illegal thing in my little folder? Well, there goes my WaReZ copy of GTA3, Warcraft 3, the Sims, and the list goes on... So, I keep on getting rid of everything else I don't need, and then the folder "SEAN" was nothing more than an Atari Emulator (with 600 Atari ROMs that only take up like 3 megabytes) Zelda Classic with Zquest, Shattered Earth, MP3s, Midis, image files, word documents, and about 30 unexplainable hidden files, which I really didn't care about, so... I move everything else into a new folder, and my 80 MB stash of hidden files... gone... And it was a miracle, once they were gone, my computer just acted like new again... It wasn't slow anymore, not as much annoying pop-ups, and the games that usually crash when I play them... Work like a charm... Ah-lay-lu-yah!!! So, this new folder, which came from 823 MB, is now... 209 MB, and it's now called "SEAN 2.0" :) I just thought I'd like to share that all with you today... I feel like a new man, kinda... No more emulation, no more slow-down computer, and more of me on AGN since I've gotten rid of all the obstacles... Now, let's tap the keg :D



So, if someone feels that this is spam, I'll make it into a real topic then... What other things have you accomplished that made you feel as happy as I am? ;)

Same here, cleaning my room is always a big task for me, considering I only clean it about once every 4 or 5 months. By then, it's a disaster area.

Yeah, I felt pretty good when I divided my massive amount of gifs into more specific folders, and I thought that was good...but I'm sure the amount of gifs I had were nothing compared to that folder...congratutlations, I'd be happy, too.

I've got a folder--named Scheiße--like the one you speak of. I put just about everything in there. (Except for porn--well, most of the time, anyway.) I have recently taken the time to sort out all my pictures, txt's, dowloads, etc. into a couple of different folders: )pictures, 2x Mp3's, Downloads, Stuff I don't use, and txt's. This has all been subdivided, and I keep a pretty good record in my mind where the hell everything is, and what the hell everything is.

Today I cut it down from 1.04 GB to 412 MB.

The only thing comparable to that was when I moved out of my house to go to college for the first year. I took all of the old kiddie games (like those handheld games with the balls and springs, or water squirters) and gave them all away. It was like nostalgia clearance - all childhood memories must go. I felt a lot better knowing I didn't have 85% of the shit I collected when I grew up.

LOL. now thats what I need to do. All of those Sonic handheld games, the etch-a-sketch, the light bright thingies, and the never ending collection of happy meal toys must go. Thank you for that bit of inspiration.

The only thing that's anywhere near comparable to that is me cleaning out and reorganizing my Sprites folder. But then again, you've just reminded me that I still need to clean out My Documents...-_-

The only thing I've ever done like that is clean my room. And a few months ago I cleaned out my folder too. It wasn't that big, only about 80 megs, and I cut it down to about 30 megs.

You know, most people pat themselves on the back when they accomplish something. ;)

Anyhow... I feel good when I get work done for school, or when I make progress on my game (that I'm writing, not that I'm playing).

From an 800 meg folder?... Wow, those must have been some pretty shitty copies. -_-

They were only around 100 megs each (GTA3 was the biggest, 133 megs)... But, yeah, they were some pretty shitty copies... That's what I get from KaZaA... :shrug:
