Can someone direct me to any of the stronger swords? the 4-headed Gleeok in level 4 is kicking my @$$ with just the wooden sword. Thanks in advance

If you have 5 hearts, then there is the white sword nearby (I'm assuming that you're in Lev 3), in the cave just to the north of the Lev 3 entrance (head around the west side).

That should help a good deal.
