Does anyone know where I can find an english translation of OoT on the internet? I have the Japanese cart, but I'm not very fluent.

edit: I was a little vague, sorry. This post is not about finding the ROM (I am very clear about that rule), but finding a text file with english translations to read as I play the Japanese cart on my N64.

Since you may not post or distribute roms, asking where to get them is also out of the question. If you really want it use TedHead's suggestion or a search engine but we can't give you anything more specific.

Since I don't see what else this thread could be good for I'll just close this.

Don't use our forums as a playground for requesting roms. Although, if you're just looking for the translated script, that's fine.

You should check gamefaqs (http://www.gamefaqs.com), as they normally have documents for games in Japanese for those who aren't fluent.

There's a English/Japanese comparison of all the text in the game here
http://loz.zeldalegends.net/emulation/dumps/zelda64/

but if your not fluent in Japanese, wouldn't it just be easier to buy a used U.S. cart for $25 (or find the much better version, GC bonus disc)?

Whats different about the official translation and the 'literal translation'?

The only thing I know of that's really different is that in the Japanese version, Twinrova's "Double Dynamic Attack" is called, "Sexy Dynamic Attack", which makes a lot more sense when you see the boss battle. And the way some things are worded has to do with how it is localized and who writes the English text. I think a friend told me that Zelda isn't the Princess of Destiny, but the Princess chosen by the gods or something like that.

I have the Japanese cart because I went to Japan a year ago and saw a used copy for only 500 yen (a little under $5 US) and thought it a good buy seeing as I don't have the English cart. I'm using the text dump comparison now to translate, and I don't see the difference between the English or the Japanese.

Do you really need to read those to get through that game? :O It's pretty easy. Reading/translating is a waste of your time.

You could get through the game not understanding, and I've played the game before, but I just like understanding what they're saying. Plus, seeing the English and the Japanese refreshes the Japanese I learned from when I went there a year ago.

www.gamefaqs.com has an English text dump. ^_^
