I saw these screen shots on www.planetgamecube.com and I must say that I'm very pleased so far with the graphics. And with Silicon Knights remaking it, with the creator of MGS and Miyamoto behind them I'm sure I'm going to buy this the day it comes out.

Awesome, the fights with normal guards are going to be alot easier this time with a first person view mode. I found it very hard to be accurate with a gun while aiming in a third person view.

And these graphics rock. Are they getting some new voices? I found Mei Ling's vioce to be very annoying.

They're doing new voiceovers but I think with the same voice actor, since mixing old cutscene voices with new cutscene voices would sound weird.

I never played the first one, unfortunately, but this game looks awesome. I can't wait.

If you've never played MGS before then you are in for a treat! :O

All my friends said the first one kicked ass. I sure hope so. It looks awesome.

Also, is it always snowing? I don't care, I actually think it looks cool with the snow.

It snows alot. Not always. :O But they may change that in the remake.

I got another question: How is this game spread out? Is it in levels, or is it one big level, with savepoints? Also, do your weapons transfer over from your last level, if there are levels.

It is MGS with improved graphics and MGS2 gameplay... obviously you couldn't ditch a body in a locker in MGS. So, it should be one big world with saving however it was in MGS... been too long since I played.

Here's a interview Nintendo Power did with Hideo Kojima for the game

Well MGS is broken down into basically one big level. But it’s broken down into sections at a time, You go throughout a level, go kill the boss, and then get a keycard to go on to the next section. You keep your weapons unless something in a story changes that, and you can save at any time, you just have to call someone. It’s a good way to lay it out. And if your talking about the snow in the game, in MGS2, it snowed at the beginning. But once you got to the main part of the game, it was actually quite sunny. The first one, if you were out doors, it was snowing, but a lot of the first one was spent indoors.

I thought it rained in Metal Gear Solid 2?

It did rain in MGS2 on the Tanker deck. I don't recall any snow in MGS2. In the original MGS it snows the first time you are outside the base. Then a few other times you are outside it should be snowing.

I read somewhere that it's MGS and MGS2 together. Or is it just MGS with MGS2 moves?

Thats good.

I've never really played it before, so I might pick it up. I did try the original MGS once for a few minutes in the store, but the controls were uncomfortable and I didn't know what I was doing. Hopefully it will feel better on GCN.

It's the original Metal Gear Solid with updated graphics and cutscenes and whatnot... There was talk about including the "VR" missions from the add-on on the playstation, but I doubt that would happen, as those weren't too much fun anyways. I haven't played the original either, but I did play the second one, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it Vegeta1215.
