moo? trying to (kinna) make a .gif

Well, i decided to try and learn how gif's are made...so i took the little moo cows and tried to make somthing of them. I hope you guys like it. Just keep in mind it my first try even trying somthing like this. Also, i apologize now if i stole somones gifs here.

man, i have tried everything i can think of to make the box around it transparent....i dunno...anyone have any ideas on how i can make the background transparent?

color the BG a totally different color from the rest of the cow, like green for instance. then set that color and the transparent color. if you're having trouble, microsoft made a free and simple gif making program. i can't find a link though. :( if you find it, download it. you can make it transparent with that.
