My computer wouldn't work. Whenever I did anything, it would freeze and I had to restart it. Then I reconnected the cable that connects me to the internet, and it immediatly stopped freezing. It hasn't frozen once yet. :confuse2: Can anyone tell me why this is?
Did you have Windows ME and accidentally install Linux when you reconnected your phone line?

Do you have some wierd ISP program running that automatically connects the the net when windows boots?

Umm... I think I may. The net automatically connects, but I have cable. Does that make a difference?

That might be the source of your problem. Kidding aside, check what programs it executes when you boot up. I'm not familiar with XP.

How strange. My computer hasn't frozen. Maybe it's because I haven't loaded the DVD player. Every time I did that, it froze.
