What is "Slashing"

I just uncover this yesterday, What does the skill "Slashing" Do anyway. Its not the Spin Slash is it?

Slashing started in LttP and the Gameboy games. When this is turned on, Link doesn't just stab straight out. He does a 90 degree slash, from side to front. No, it is not the complete spin attack.

yes; it doesn't really have any practical use other than for a neater attack (well, also a slightly broader attack range) you set the slashing sprites in the weapons/misc sprite editor (there's one for Link himself & then each of the 4 swords) Newer tilesets should already have the tiles for the sprites in them. You can have either LInk start with the slash ability (check this option in the Initial Data Menu) or have him 'learn' it in a "learn slash" room type which automatically enables the ability after stepping into that screen. for more details, check my tutorial (click the link in my signature)

Seems more like a 180, if you examine the attack's range.:shrug:

The sword goes from here | to here _ if you are facing right. |_ = 90 degrees. ;)

Right.:) Just checked. Enemies are the exception.:)

that explains it...why i couldnt get slash to work for me...didnt set the d@mn sprites...
