I was thinking about getting the new(ish) metroid games, when I came up with this idea. What is your favorite metroid game?

(You can pick more than one)

I know "everyone" "hates" it, but I like Metroid Fusion best.

I've only played Metroid Prime and the one for SNES. Both of them got really annoying after a while (for me anyway) but I'd say get Metroid Prime because it does play well and has really nice graphics.

Super Metroid. Without question.

I've only played the NES one, Fusion, and Prime. Good thing I only borrowed Fusion. It just sucked(for me, anyways). I'm not a big fan of Metroid, either. I voted Prime, because it's the one I like the most.

I've only played the originals, but they were all so good I had to vote for all of them.

Personally, I love all of them, but it's still an easy decision. Super Metroid is by far my favorite game of the series. I did enjoy Fusion a lot as well, since it was sort of an expansion of Super Metroid.

Prime, I liked a lot, but it just didn't seem that much like Metroid. It reminded me more of Half-Life or Turok. Which is still a good thing in my book.

Exactly.:) Fusion to me was a downgrade, while Prime, a good metroid game, wasn't what I was looking for. It reminded me too much of other games that I don't like.

I figured SM would come in first and MP would come in second. And I liked SM the best out of the ones I played, but I haven't played the 2 new games.

...for the thousandth time, Super Metroid. Someone should take these recurrent threads and just sticky the damned results once and for all.

My three favorite games of all time(as of 4/24/03):

1. Sonic the Hedgehog CD
2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
3. Super Metroid

Nuff said ;)

I never played Return of Samus (I heard it wasn't good so I didn't bother getting the ROM) but I like all of the Metroid games. Though, I liked Fusion a lot, it just didn't campare with M1, SM, or MP

1: super metroid
2: metroid 1
3: metroid fusion (kicks ass but not enough for #1)
4: return of samus
5: metroid prime

If I had to pick just one, Super Metroid for sure. It is gaming perfection. But, since I can choose more than one, I pick them all!

It doesn't make sense.. picking a favorite means picking ONE.. not being allowed to pick them all ??!!?

My thoughts exactly :p.

I chose Fusion, mainly because it's the only Metroid game that I actually own ;). The others (save Prime of course) are all hiding on my HD somewhere as ROMs (Fusion is somewhere around as well).

Well, in case you can't decide? I don't know. It should go "what are your favorite metroid game(s)".

I loved Fusion too. Yeah, I wish it was as long as Super Metroid, but the thing that bugged me about it was that it was too linear. I like having hints on where to go, but there wasn't as much to think about with the computer telling you.

Oh yeah, the SA-X was awesome. Freaked me out everytime I ran into it :)
