I got a job last week and I quit it this week.

Why did I quit?

Because I found out that it would cost me $400 to be in the union, if you factor in monthly dues for the duration of my employment.

No thanks.

If I'm going to blow $400, it's going to be on a new video card, not on a union membership as a pizza cook. Forget that.

So I'm unemployed again.:)

I'm getting a job at Wendy's. Summer employment, starting halfway through the second semester. It pays 5.75 an hour, $.60 over minimum wage. Also, I've got some friends who work there. A union membership at that price isn't worth whatever benefits the union gives. I think it works so that the career deli-stock boys have job-security.
