I was fiddling with my palettes today, and I got to thinking. Why are there so many level palette csets past #9, if you can't use them?

And if you can, how do you? I've tried using cset2, but all that seems to do is dip into the main palette.

Kinda of strikes me as odd that they'd be there for no apparant reason.

Pallete cycling and room darkening is why they're there. You don't use them directly, they replace other csets in the pallete as those things call for.

So in theory, making a palette cycle that didn’t cycle could use them? Granted, that would look strange for a moment when the player walked into the room, but I'd like to conserve dmap changes if possible.

Edit: If not, is it possible to use the ESPs? Surely all of the csets in ESP2 have a purpose, aside from BS Patra...
