I just got a wireless card for my laptop, and I want to know a couple things about how to configure my computer the way I want it.
The wireless connection is a tad bit faster than the wired connection here, so I would like to use the wireless connection. However, the only reason I have wireless access in my dorm is because one of the students runs an access point. However, the ITS department doesn't like that very much, and occaisionally he has to shut it down. Hence my problem. In my dorm room, I'd like to keep the wire connected while using the wireless card, so I can easily switch should the wireless fail. However, my connection defaults to the wired connection when I am online. So, instead of using the wireless connection, my computer prefers the wired connection. Is there anything I can do about this?
