Heh, that was a good laugh. Got the newest version of NetHack, too. Yay!

Although the originals, Moria & Angband, are still better, dammit.

I have Nethack on my Linux computer, it's like a 3d role playing game...but what's with the ascii pics and stuff? Is there a ascii way to play Nethack? If so, do many people play it that way?

EDIT: Ah, I just realized I have Nethack, Falcon's Eye, which is a gui based Nethack that doesn't change any of the game play at all. Neat.

I'm busy with my new friend, the Dragonball Z MUD (http://www.dbsaga.com), but when I tire of it, I think I'll get back in to nethack.

It just kind of discouraged me when a master lich took my 8-hour valk and cursed all her items. :/

Though I like old school games, I don't know if I could get into the original ascii Nethack, but Falcon's Eye is a different story. I may dive into it sometime.

Anybody ever play the old BBS game, Legend of the Red Dragon? I've toyed with the idea of making a web-based version of it, but wasn't sure if there'd be many people interested. Maybe some of you old-schoolers would appreciate it though.

at first, i couldn't figure out if this was a bad joke or some horrific new product. Seems I was right either way.

Is text-based gaming, other than MUDs, really that popular that you need a specialized graphics card to handle ASCII text?? give me a break

Heh. I just downloaded Falcon's Eye today. Fun game, that. I dunno whether I'll play that instead of NetHack ('cuz Falcon's got purdy isometric graphics and stuff) all the time.

Oh, snap...that reminds me. I gotta finish this readme file for my logfile analyzer. :P

NetHack...... now there's a game I haven't played in a long time. I might just check out Falcon's Eye though, the whole prospect sounds pretty cool.
